Now They All Want to Work With Him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"body lead-in-text\">OpenAI, Anthropic, and<\/span> xAI have all asked creator Matt Husk to collaborate following the viral success of his videos trolling AI models.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">During the WIRED World Fair on Wednesday, Husk told the crowd \u201call the big AI companies\u201d have inquired about working with him, including Elon Musk\u2019s xAI, which Husk claimed offered a Tesla for a week if he made videos exclusively for the firm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The comedian has gained some 2 million followers combined across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as a deal with the talent agency Unicorn, through videoing himself making deadpan requests to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/tag\/chatgpt\/\" class=\"text link\">ChatGPT\u2019s<\/a> voice model\u2014asking it to count to 100, or to beatbox, for example. His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/comedians-making-fun-of-ai\/\" class=\"text link\">viral<\/a> videos have exposed the weaknesses of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/tag\/openai\/\" class=\"text link\">OpenAI<\/a>\u2019s LLM, which comically botches the tasks and swings between sycophancy and gaslighting Husk, and earned him the <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/91527208\/husk-viral-influencer-breaks-chatgpt-brain-sam-altman-worst-nightmare\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/91527208\/husk-viral-influencer-breaks-chatgpt-brain-sam-altman-worst-nightmare&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/91527208\/husk-viral-influencer-breaks-chatgpt-brain-sam-altman-worst-nightmare\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">title<\/a> of \u201cSam Altman\u2019s worst nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">In April, Altman, nodding and smiling, admitted on tech podcast <em>Mostly Human<\/em> that the model\u2019s inability to set an accurate timer was a \u201cknown issue\u201d and would be for another year, after being shown a Husk video in which he asked ChatGPT to time him running a mile and found that it measured a span of a few seconds as lasting \u201caround 10 minutes.\u201d When Husk says \u201cI swear I was faster than that,\u201d it replies with a sympathetic tone: \u201cIt can feel faster in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">During his interview at WIRED World Fair with <em>Shell Game<\/em> podcast host Evan Ratliff, Husk said OpenAI offered him early access to a patch for the timer issue if he shared his account. He declined. The company had previously emailed Husk asking to collaborate on a video. \u201cThey offered me the smallest amount,\u201d he said. \u201cI was just like, \u2018No.\u2019\u201d The firm then offered to send him gifts and asked for his home address; Again, Husk declined.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI (which was recently rolled into SpaceX to create SpaceXAI and then SpaceXSI after President Trump renamed artificial intelligence \u201csuper intelligence\u201d) did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">AI labs are increasingly pitching their products as capable of handling everyday chores. On Tuesday, OpenAI <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/lifeval\/\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/lifeval\/&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/lifeval\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> its model had scored \u201cvery highly\u201d on a benchmark built to model its ability to help people in their personal lives, such as meal prep and enrolling a child in kindergarten. \u201cThe way they promote it is like \u2018It can do anything,\u2019\u201d Husk said, \u201cso I\u2019ll put it to the test\u2014see if it can order bread for me.\u201d In one of his videos, Husk asks AI to help him negotiate some bread on Craigslist down from a starting price of $10,000 to $5. The model accepts a price of $400.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Husk began publicly trolling chatbots about a year ago. He told Ratliff, a WIRED contributor, at the time he liked to make TikToks asking people questions, but there weren\u2019t many around while he was working his landscaping job, and he ran out of ideas. So he recorded himself telling ChatGPT a nuclear bomb had gone off. The model\u2019s response, \u201cI\u2019m rooting for you,\u201d and advice to take shelter \u201cwas not helpful at all,\u201d he said. \u201cI thought it was a pretty bad video,\u201d he told Ratliff, \u201cand the next morning I had 100,00 views, and I was like, \u2018Let\u2019s tell it I got hit by a train.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Since then, Husk has secured brand partnerships with CeraVe and Ninja. He also has an upcoming original series with The Onion, where he learns complicated skills, like being a mime, over Zoom. \u201cI&#8217;m spending too much time talking to AI,\u201d Husk explained, \u201cso I&#8217;m going to branch out and learn stuff from humans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">While Husk finds himself talking to AI a lot to scope out ideas for videos, \u201cI don&#8217;t really use it in that creative sense,\u201d such as to generate ideas, he said, because they would all be \u201ctoo similar.\u201d \u201cI&#8217;d rather just have my worst idea at least be <em>my<\/em> idea rather than AI&#8217;s idea for a video,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/wired-world-fair-2026-evan-ratliff-and-husk\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI have all asked creator Matt Husk to collaborate following the viral success of his videos trolling AI models.
