The New York Times Company is in talks\u201dexclusive negotations\u201d to acquire Letterboxd, the social network for film lovers, for around $330 million, The New York Times<\/em> reports<\/a>. The Times Company, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and A24 were all recently rumored<\/a> to be among those interested in buying Letterboxd.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The negotiations with the Times Company have included the potential for Letterboxd\u2019s co-founders to stay in charge but report to a Times Company executive. Letterboxd would likely remain standalone for the \u201cforeseeable future,\u201d according to the NYT<\/em>. The company would also integrate the Times Company\u2019s ad tech.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

NYT<\/em> spokesperson Charlie Stadtlander declined to comment. Letterboxd and current parent company Tiny Ltd. didn\u2019t immediately reply to a request for comment from The Verge<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
