Blue Origin plans to do its next New Glenn rocket launch in January 2027, according to CNBC<\/a> and the Financial Times<\/em><\/a>, which cite a memo from CEO Dave Limp sent to staff. The new timeline follows a May launchpad explosion<\/a> that damaged Blue Origin\u2019s New Glenn launchpad ahead of a flight that would have brought Amazon Leo satellites into space.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In October, Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos told Fox News<\/a> that the company was aiming for a December New Glenn launch, joking that it could be \u201cprobably December 31st.\u201d The new, revised launch window is \u201cabout 10 days later than Blue Origin\u2019s earlier launch target,\u201d CNBC reports. Limp also reportedly cited bad weather as having an effect on the launchpad rebuilding process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThis small adjustment doesn\u2019t diminish what we\u2019ve accomplished or the importance of the work still ahead,\u201d Limp wrote in his memo, per CNBC and the FT<\/em>. \u201cReturning New Glenn to flight remains our top priority \u2014 it\u2019s worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
