\u201cI\u2019m not great about wearing aprons,\u201d admits vegetarian chef, recipe developer, and author<\/a>\u00a0Srishti Jain<\/a>. \u201cI just wear an oversized T-shirt that I don\u2019t mind getting dirty.\u201d She\u2019s a lifelong cook, but started baking as a pandemic hobby \u2014 which rapidly evolved into new career chapter. These days, Srishti is doing pastry pop-ups in Brooklyn, making pavlova for 100, and designing one-of-a-kind cakes<\/a>. Here, she shares her schlepping shoes and the most-worn skirt in her wardrobe\u2026<\/p>\n Skirt: Tyler McGillivary<\/a>. T-shirt: Still Here<\/a>. Earrings: Laura Lombardi<\/a> and Faris<\/a>. Bag: similar<\/a>. Shoes: thrifted, similar<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cOver the years, I\u2019ve incorporated more color and pattern into what was a mostly all-black wardrobe. Prints can be so much fun \u2014 I love the swans on this Tyler McGillivary skirt<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a big schlepper \u2014 yesterday, I left the house at noon and didn\u2019t return until almost midnight. I went to the gym and library, then had hot pot with friends, and after that, I went bowling. So, I need a roomy bag. I have an L.L.Bean tote<\/a> embroidered with \u2018Clam\u2019s Mom,\u2019 (Clam is my cat), as well as this woven bag that I bought on the street in Costa Brava because every woman there was carrying one.\u201d<\/p>\n Top: Dissh<\/a>, similar<\/a>. Pants: Dissh<\/a>. Bag: Paloma Wool<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m an author and chef, but I also have a day job in tech, and the office is in Soho. At least once a day, I\u2019ll stop someone walking by to say, \u2018I love your bag\u2019 or \u2018Where did you get that coat?\u2019 Even if it\u2019s a vintage piece I won\u2019t be able to track down, I feel inspired to combine my own pieces in a new way.\u201d<\/p>\n Dress: Ilana Kohn<\/a>, \u201cbought before she closed her brand last fall. I will cherish it forever.\u201d Pants: Dissh<\/a>. Shoes: Puma<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a big fan of tailoring. I\u2019m 5\u20191, so I started out with getting my pants hemmed. Then I tried out more tweaks, like having the straps taken in on a ribbed tank top so it fits me better. Little adjustments don\u2019t cost much, but they make a big difference.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m all about adding something spiky, whether it\u2019s the hoop earrings<\/a> I wear all the time or these Puma ballet shoes<\/a>. Fashion writer Mandy Lee<\/a> described my shoe philosophy perfectly when she talked about loving a \u2018freaky little shoe\u2019 \u2014\u00a0and I\u2019m looking for one that\u2019s comfortable. I definitely learned the hard way that certain sweaters can\u2019t go in the dryer. I just got a lint-removing tool<\/a> and fabric shaver<\/a>. I\u2019m very excited.\u201d<\/p>\n Top: vintage, several available on eBay<\/a>. Shoes: Hoka<\/a>. Bag: le-febour<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThis is what I wear when baking: an oversized T-shirt, hat, and comfy shoes. I was a classic clog person for a long time. I wore Gardenheir clogs<\/a>, and I still love them, but now I wear my SUPER comfy Hoka Ora Primos<\/a> even more.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI \u2018borrowed\u2019 this shirt from a friend. I wear it to work, sleep, and everything in between. T-shirts are the number-one thing I steal from my loved ones, because I want the most worn-in ones possible, and that\u2019s the best way to find them! I\u2019ve always raided my dad\u2019s closet, and now, when I go home, he\u2019ll leave out a stack of his old tees for me to go through.
