Luca Guadagnino\u2019s film about OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Artificial<\/em>, has reportedly been dropped by Amazon MGM.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The film, which stars Andrew Garfield and covers the rollercoaster five days in 2023 spanning Altman\u2019s termination and reinstatement as CEO, had been in the works for about a year<\/a>. The cast also includes A Complete Unknown<\/em> actress Monica Barbaro as OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, Ike Barinholtz as Elon Musk, and Anora<\/em>\u2019s Yura Borisov as OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a statement to Deadline<\/a><\/em>, the studio said it believes the movie \u201cwill be better served if it were released by a different studio and is working closely with the filmmaking team to find the film a new home.\u201d Puck<\/em> first reported the studio\u2019s decision not to release the film.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Amazon and OpenAI also have close ties, with Amazon in February announcing a $50 billion investment in the AI lab.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
