But if you are waiting on a preorder for the Framework Laptop 13 Pro \u2014 which Framework\u2019s CEO has called the \u201cMacBook Pro for Linux users\u201d \u2014 the company shared good news on Thursday that might mean yours will cost less than you expected. The <a href=\"https:\/\/framework.pxf.io\/c\/482924\/1459308\/17284?u=https%3A%2F%2Fframe.work%2Fblog%2Fupdates-on-memory-pricing-and-navigating-the-volatile-memory-market\" rel=\"sponsored\">company announced<\/a> that it has secured cheaper new PCIe Gen 5 SSDs from its supplier, Adata, and if you had put in an order for a configuration with a 500GB SSD, you\u2019ll now get a 1TB SSD at a lower price. Framework also said you can also now order configurations with the new 1TB or 2TB SSDs onboard, though I\u2019m not seeing them in the <a href=\"https:\/\/framework.pxf.io\/c\/482924\/1459308\/17284?u=https%3A%2F%2Fframe.work%2Fproducts%2Flaptop13pro-diy-amd-ai300%2Fconfiguration%2Fnew\" rel=\"sponsored\">DIY configurator<\/a> yet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">But Framework has some bad news, too. The company says that it has \u201cgotten signals that CPU pricing will be increasing soon,\u201d so it expects that it will have to \u201cadjust the overall system price on Framework Laptop 13 Pro in the coming weeks for new orders.\u201d Not a great sign for the component crisis, which has already led to major price increases across tech hardware, including some also announced on Thursday for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/956950\/ram-crisis-apple-price-increase\">Apple devices<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/games\/957042\/xbox-price-increase-memory-shortage\">Xbox consoles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Framework initially announced the Laptop 13 Pro <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/gadgets\/915508\/framework-announces-laptop-13-pro-the-macbook-pro-for-linux-users\">in April<\/a> and originally planned to ship the first units in June.
