My mom was always amazed by the miles and miles of corn fields and commented on it all the time \u2014 so much so that her three preteen kids started ignoring her. So, my dad instituted a rule: You MUST agree with mom when she comments on the corn. He would cue us like an orchestra conductor: \u2018That\u2019s a lot of corn, Mom!\u2019 For all our rebellions over the teenage years, we never balked at this rule.
