You could also run around with people on the call in a shared virtual environment. But in a statement, the company says that users 13 and older \u201cpredominantly\u201d chat via the platform\u2019s party voice chat functionality for calls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">\u201cRoblox Connect is being discontinued today, including both the developer-facing APIs and the Roblox Connect feature itself,\u201d Roblox spokesperson Angela Allison tells <em>The Verge<\/em>. \u201cUsers 13 and up predominantly use our more recent <a href=\"https:\/\/en.help.roblox.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360000432483-Party-chat-In-App\">Party Voice<\/a> feature instead to make private voice calls with Trusted Friends on Roblox.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">In a post last month announcing the shutdown of the APIs, a Roblox staffer <a href=\"https:\/\/devforum.roblox.com\/t\/roblox-connect-calling-apis-are-sunsetting-july-15\/4684409\">noted that<\/a> Party Voice \u201chandles private voice chat in a way that\u2019s more capable and better suited to how players use Roblox today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">When Connect was announced, Roblox said it intended to open source the feature, but I haven\u2019t been able to find if that actually happened.
