It would be the most significant refresh for the Mini since its 2021 redesign. An OLED iPad Mini has been rumored for months now, with Gurman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/808841\/apple-oled-transition-macbook-air-ipad-mini\">previously reporting<\/a> last year that it will also come with a price increase, and earlier this week he said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/966219\/apple-care-plus-price-increase\">price of AppleCare Plus<\/a> for Macs and iPads is going up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">That iPad Mini price hike is even more likely now after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/956903\/apple-price-increase-2026-macbook-ipad-mac-home-vision-pro\">Apple raised prices<\/a> across its product lineup last month \u2014 including the current iPad Mini, which now costs $100 more. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/951948\/apple-tim-cook-price-increases-ram\">Tim Cook<\/a>, the price hikes were in response to the ongoing RAM shortage, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/914672\/the-ram-shortage-could-last-years\">could last for years<\/a>, so the OLED iPad Mini will almost certainly be even pricier than its predecessor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">In addition to the OLED iPad Mini, Gurman says Apple is planning upgrades to the iPad Air and the base iPad, slated for early next year. The base iPad will reportedly get a relatively minor refresh with an updated processor but no major design changes. Gurman says Apple is planning an \u201ceventual OLED upgrade for the iPad Air,\u201d with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/912475\/the-ipad-air-could-get-an-oled-upgrade-next-year\">earlier rumors<\/a> pointing to that upgrade coming sometime next year.
