How was your weekend? A few months ago, a CoJ reader named Molly asked if we could share weekend recaps<\/a> now and again, so here\u2019s mine, and please share yours in the comments, if you\u2019d like\u2026<\/p>\n

My honorary niece Grace, who lives in England, is spending the summer doing medical research in New York \u2014 I\u2019m so happy she\u2019s here! Since Saturday was very rainy, we took her to Art of Play<\/a>, a magic and games store in Brooklyn Heights.<\/p>\n

We loved playing with the little puzzles. If you figure one out, the shop owner rings a bell, which felt like peak excitement to a 13-year-old, 16-year-old, 23-year-old, and 47-year-old.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/p>\n

Later, I saw this funny New Yorker comic\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

..and met up with Alison<\/a>, who, like the amazing weirdo she is, now carries a trash grabber<\/a> wherever she goes. \u201cPeople who pass by sometimes compare me to David Sedaris<\/a>,\u201d she laughs. \u201cBut it\u2019s a small way to give back to the neighborhood.\u201d (Side note: How cute is her skirt<\/a>?)<\/p>\n

We then went to our friends\u2019 apartment to watch England play in the World Cup \u2014 what a game, gahhh!!! (This Onion headline<\/a> made me laugh.)<\/p>\n

Finally, and at long last, Freddie<\/a> got back from a week-long cruise with his extended family.<\/p>\n
