A new tool coming to the platform can scan posts, notes, replies, and comments to provide an estimate of how much text could be AI-generated or written with AI assistance, according <a href=\"https:\/\/post.substack.com\/p\/against-claudefishing\">to a blog post published on Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The tool is powered <a href=\"http:\/\/pangram.com\">by an AI detection company called Pangram<\/a> and is rolling out across the web and the iOS app, with an Android launch coming \u201csoon.\u201d Readers can analyze content longer than 100 words by choosing the \u201cScan for AI text\u201d option from the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of a post.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Substack co-founder and CEO Chris Best says the Pangram integration is meant to increase transparency on the platform as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialmediatoday.com\/news\/can-social-media-platforms-survive-the-flood-of-ai-content\/824914\/\">AI becomes more prevalent<\/a> on social media. \u201cThe core problem is not people using AI, or the quality of its output,\u201d Best writes. \u201cThe problem is when there is a mismatch between a reader\u2019s expectation and reality, especially when they unwittingly invest their attention in something with no human thought on the other end. That\u2019s Claudefishing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">In line with this change, Substack will also allow creators to explain their writing process to readers with a new \u201cHow I make this\u201d statement.
