The glasses, developed in collaboration with Google and the eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, are due to launch this fall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Google and Samsung have been teasing the new glasses for some time, and revealed the first two designs at I\/O in May. <a href=\"https:\/\/news.samsung.com\/global\/samsung-brings-galaxy-ecosystem-into-everyday-eyewear\">Now there are two more frames<\/a>: Both are unsurprisingly boxy, with a new set of squared off black glasses from Gentle Monster, and a more rounded, red-brown pair from Warby Parker. Jaein Choi, the executive vice president running Samsung\u2019s mobile experience division, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/amp\/2026\/07\/22\/samsung-smart-glasses-features-specs-price-meta.html\"><em>CNBC<\/em><\/a> that there are \u201cmore designs\u201d on the way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">This was our first chance to see any of the four frames in person, though Samsung wouldn\u2019t let me try them on \u2014 or even hold them up to my face. They\u2019re all impressively light \u2014 not much heavier than the thick-rimmed acrylic glasses I used to wear, and barely bigger than them either. Speaker and microphone grilles are hidden along the stems, a single button sits on the right with a power switch tucked inside on the left, and of course there\u2019s a camera and recording LED mounted on the front. Much like Meta\u2019s collaborations with Ray-Ban and Oakley, these basically look like normal glasses most people would happily wear \u2014 privacy connotations aside.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The new glasses will be powered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/9\/27\/23891035\/meta-quest-3-qualcomm-snapdragon-xr2-gen-2-ar1-gen-1\">Qualcomm\u2019s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip<\/a>, the same silicon that powers Meta\u2019s latest smart glasses. Samsung says they\u2019ll run for up to nine hours on a single charge, while the accompanying charging case delivers up to seven additional charges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">You\u2019ll be able to use either Google Gemini or Samsung\u2019s Bixby with the glasses, though the AI features themselves sound pretty familiar: message summaries, live translation, navigation guidance, and analysis or description of what\u2019s captured by the cameras.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Speaking of, just like Meta\u2019s, there is a recording LED for when the camera is capturing video. Choi told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-07-22\/samsung-says-smart-glasses-privacy-concerns-need-industrywide-fix\"><em>Bloomberg<\/em><\/a> that, like Meta\u2019s, the glasses will prevent recording if they detect the LED has been blocked or obscured. That hasn\u2019t been enough to prevent Meta\u2019s from being branded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/967995\/leaning-into-pervert-glasses-sure-is-a-choice\">\u201cpervert glasses,\u201d<\/a> so we\u2019ll have to see if Samsung and Google have other plans for tackling what Choi called an \u201can industry-shared problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Samsung still isn\u2019t revealing a firm release date or price for the upcoming glasses, but Choi described them as a \u201cpremium\u201d product.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/969382\/samsung-google-smart-glasses-gentle-monster-warby-parker\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samsung has given us our first chance to check out its upcoming smart glasses in person, revealing two new designs and the first specs in the process, including an impressive 9-hour battery life.
