{"id":5046,"date":"2026-08-06T02:47:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T02:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/silvybrand.com\/?p=5046"},"modified":"2026-08-06T02:47:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T02:47:16","slug":"elon-musk-grokipedia-ai-wikipedia-not-updating-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/silvybrand.com\/?p=5046","title":{"rendered":"Elon Musk\u2019s attempt at an AI Wikipedia hasn\u2019t been updated in months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">xAI\u2019s Grokipedia, an online encyclopedia with AI-generated articles that Elon Musk once promised would be a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1972992095859433671?lang=en\">\u201cmassive improvement\u201d<\/a> over Wikipedia, apparently hasn\u2019t been updated since April 24th, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawfaremedia.org\/article\/grokipedia-stopped-reviewing-edits-in-april.-it-didn-t-tell-anyone\">according to a report from <em>Lawfare<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAs far as we can tell, no entry has changed in more than three months,\u201d <em>Lawfare<\/em> said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Grokipedia launched in v0.1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/807686\/elon-musk-grokipedia-launch-wikipedia-xai-copied\">in October 2025<\/a> with an initial batch of 885,000 articles, and is now on v0.2 (released <a href=\"https:\/\/grokipedia.com\/page\/Grokipedia_version_02\">in November 2025<\/a>) and has more than 6,000,000 total articles, <a href=\"https:\/\/grokipedia.com\/live\">according to grokipedia.com\/live<\/a>. But that live page also has a section titled \u201cRecent changes to\u2026\u201d with a message under it that reads \u201cNo live edits available right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">You can still suggest articles for Grokipedia to cover and edits to individual pages. But <em>Lawfare<\/em> looked at both popular and unpopular pages on Grokipedia and found that they weren\u2019t updating. \u201cIn our subsequent analysis of 34,519 pages with at least one suggested edit in our sample, containing a total of 225,496 recommended edits, we found no accepted or rejected corrections dated within the past three months,\u201d <em>Lawfare<\/em> said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">xAI didn\u2019t immediately reply to a request for comment.
