Deadline<\/em> reported Thursday<\/a> that the upcoming The Legend of Zelda<\/em> movie will feature Australian actor Uli Latukefu<\/a> as the villain Ganondorf, and the publication notes that \u201cWe hear Latukefu inked a multi-picture deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nintendo or Sony haven\u2019t formally confirmed that there\u2019s more than one movie in the works, though it\u2019s been rumored that Nintendo and Sony might be planning a trilogy<\/a>. Still, it\u2019s not exactly unexpected that more Zelda<\/em> movies might be on the way, especially given the huge<\/a> success<\/a> of the recent Super Mario<\/em> films at the box office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Nintendo initially announced the live-action Zelda<\/em> movie, which it\u2019s making with Sony Pictures Entertainment, back in 2023<\/a>, with Wes Ball directing with Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad producing. Last year, Nintendo announced<\/a> that Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth had been cast as Princess Zelda and Link, respectively. The movie is set to release on April 30th, 2027<\/a>, and filming has officially wrapped<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nintendo is also preparing a big new Zelda<\/em> game: the company has announced a Switch 2 remake of Ocarina of Time<\/em> that\u2019s set to launch sometime in 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
