Disney is testing a new AI-powered tool for Disney Plus that uses a natural language search, a voice query, or a suggested prompt to create a customized row of show and movie recommendations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Disney Plus, like other streaming services, can recommend shows to watch based on your viewing history. But the company says this new tool, which is \u201ca limited beta experiment\u201d that\u2019s in testing with a \u201csmall group of select subscribers,\u201d is intended to recommend content that \u201cfits the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In an earnings call this week, Disney CEO Josh D\u2019Amaro doubled down on plans to make Disney Plus the \u201cdigital centerpiece\u201d<\/a> of the company with \u201cincreased personalization, exclusivity, and benefits for subscribers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Disney is also introducing an \u201cAI-assisted\u201d conversational search experience for ESPN that looks more like a traditional AI chatbot. ESPN Search<\/a>, which is in beta with a \u201csubset\u201d of users, lets users ask questions and get answers, stats, and recommendations \u201cdrawn from ESPN\u2019s vast sports knowledge ecosystem,\u201d the company says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
