In an email sent to users, Valve says its European shipping partner, CEVA Logistics, suffered a data breach that may have included customer names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The breach at CEVA occurred between July 29th and August 1st, weeks after Valve began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/games\/952191\/valve-steam-machine-reservation-preorder-process\">taking reservations for its new Steam Machine<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/games\/918610\/valve-steam-controller-review\">Steam Controller<\/a>. Valve adds that European customer data \u201cwas likely compromised\u201d as part of the breach, as CEVA stores \u201cdelivery-related information\u201d for up to 90 days after orders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">As a result of the breach, Valve says to \u201cexpect fake messages\u201d over email, text, or on the phone that claim to come from Steam, Valve, or a delivery company. \u201cThey may quote your address back to you to prove they\u2019re genuine.
