On Wednesday, ABC7 News Bay Area <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@abc7newsbayarea\/video\/DcPHCF6jzhn\/video-an-amazon-customer-in-texas-was-not-enthused-when-her-first-drone-delivered\/\">shared a video<\/a> showing an Amazon delivery drone hovering over a customer\u2019s pool in Texas, before opening its hatch and plopping the package directly into the water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">This isn\u2019t the first time Amazon\u2019s drones have delivered soggy packages. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/sTNXK7qQiX0\">video shared last July<\/a> shows a Prime Air drone dropping a package right next to a customer\u2019s pool in Arizona, but air sent downward by the drone\u2019s propellers blew it straight into the water. In an interview <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/video\/2025\/08\/01\/amazon-drone-delivery-goes-wrong-package-ends-up-pool\/\">with local news outlet AZFamily 3TV<\/a> at the time, the customer said he let Amazon choose the delivery location for him. Another incident from May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SipsTea\/comments\/1t4730x\/amazon_drone_delivery_near_lake\/\">shows an Amazon drone dropping<\/a> a package near a pond, which bounces off the ground and tumbles into the water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Amazon says that once its drones reach the delivery point, \u201cit will check to confirm there are no people, pets, or vehicles in the way before safely delivering the package.\u201d Maybe it needs to check for water, too.
