It\u2019s available to preorder now for $399 in cream, graphite, lavender, and sky blue, and Pollen Robotics says it plans to start shipping the little robot \u201cbefore Christmas 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pollen-robotics.com\/microduck\/\">Video demos<\/a> of the Microduck show it picking up socks and markers, kicking around a ball, and zipping around on tiny rollerskates. Pollen Robotics says it can also \u201creact to its surroundings\u201d and follow around a laser pointer, or users can control it with a game controller. The Microduck\u2019s software is open-source, like Hugging Face\u2019s previous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/702352\/hugging-faces-adorable-reachy-mini-robot-is-now-available-for-preorder\">Reachy Mini robot<\/a>, so users can also retrain it to do new tricks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The Microduck can sing, too, and Pollen Robotics says each one has its own sound: \u201cit communicates through weird little sounds, closer to a creature than an assistant.
