Its field of view is 100 times larger than Hubble\u2019s and, according to NASA, it can survey the sky 1,000 times faster using its 300-megapixel infrared camera. Roman also has a Coronagraph system that can block and mask glare from stars, allowing it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/11\/4\/22761537\/space-telescope-astronomy-decadal-survey-astrophysics-habitable-planets\">directly image exoplanets<\/a>, even smaller, older, and colder planets orbiting close to their stars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Roman will also conduct detailed 3D scans to help map the distribution of dark matter and narrow down the potential candidates for its makeup.
