How was your weekend? A few months ago, a lovely CoJ reader named Molly asked if everyone could share weekend recaps<\/a> now and again. Here\u2019s mine, and please share yours in the comments, if you\u2019d like\u2026<\/p>\n

\"Carolyn<\/p>\n

Our weekend was busier than usual! Our beloved old babysitter Carolyn<\/a> came to visit from Kansas City. She stayed with friends but stopped by our place for a squeeze. How sweet is her baby Bernie??<\/p>\n

\"toby<\/p>\n

Nailed it, haha.<\/p>\n

\"a<\/p>\n

That evening, Freddie<\/a> and I watched A Separation<\/a>, a 2011 Iranian film about a tough chapter during a marriage. Have you seen it? The acting was phenomenal, and although four people were in conflict, you understood everyone\u2019s perspective, which is what made it so beautiful and devastating.<\/p>\n

\"anton<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Anton<\/a> and his friend gave themselves a hilarious personal challenge: run five miles, bike five miles, win a Fortnight game, make a steak, bake a cake. And they did it all!<\/p>\n

\"scarf\"<\/p>\n

Inspired by Jannelle<\/a>, I also tried a scarf<\/a>. Not sure I pulled it off, but it was fun to play around with it. (Cool travel ones here<\/a>, too.)<\/p>\n

\"Central<\/p>\n

The next morning, Anton and I went on a little adventure to Central Park. We ended up walking around and renting a row boat. Anton snapped a photo of himself and said, \u201cThis is how dads take pictures \u2014\u00a0just your frowning face in one corner of the shot.\u201d Made me laugh so much.<\/p>\n

\"gemma<\/p>\n

Finally, on Sunday evening, my bff Gemma<\/a> from London came to visit with her older two boys.<\/p>\n

\"guest<\/p>\n

I got her room<\/a> ready, and we ended up lying together and catching up.<\/p>\n

\"greek<\/p>\n

Then we ordered pizzas, and I made a salad with lettuce, cucumbers, and feta. Freddie\u2019s taught me how to shop the fridge for ingredients and not be nervous to just combine things. That probably sounds really intuitive to most people but wasn\u2019t for me!<\/p>\n

\"ankle<\/p>\n

And how cute is Gemma\u2019s ankle bracelet? \u201cIt was like three euro from a beachside kiosk this summer,\u201d she told me, \u201cBut this one<\/a> is similar.\u201d xoxo<\/p>\n
