OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT, xAI\u2019s Grok, and Anthropic\u2019s Claude are all experiencing issues. At around 11AM ET, ChatGPT started returning error messages for users trying to use the chatbot, with its status page saying<\/a> there are currently \u201celevated errors across ChatGPT and Codex.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Users began experiencing problems with Claude around the same time. While Anthropic\u2019s status page<\/a> indicates Mythos\/Fable 5.1, Mythos\/Fable 5, Opus 5, Opus 4.8, and Opus 4.6 were initially impacted by an outage starting around 10:30AM ET, the company now says it\u2019s only affecting Opus 4.8 and Opus 5.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It\u2019s not clear what has gone wrong, or if the issues are somehow related. OpenAI says it has applied a mitigation and is \u201cmonitoring recovery,\u201d while Anthropic\u2019s status page says that it\u2019s \u201ccontinuing to work on a fix.\u201d The Verge<\/em> has reached out to OpenAI, xAI, and Anthropic with a request for comment but didn\u2019t immediately hear back.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
