\u201cMy dog\u2019s name is Huntly, which is my mother\u2019s maiden name. He\u2019s the most joyful dog and brings such happiness and vibrance to my life. The whole neighborhood knows him \u2014 the first thing people ask is, \u2018Where\u2019s Huntly?!\u2019 I started bringing him on runs this past winter, once he was old enough, and now he can do up to 5K!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I lace up and go for a run, that\u2019s the freest I feel, because I can move through time and space unconstricted by anything or anyone. That\u2019s not always the case in other parts of life. I never run with music or headphones, and if I wear a watch it\u2019s mostly for fashion \u2014 I don\u2019t track my pace or any of those metrics. I just let my body tell me if I need to slow down or pick up the pace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy necklaces were all gifts, and I never take them off. The Hamsa was a gift from my older sister, as a symbol of protection. The Taurus pendant is a reflection of who I am \u2014 a true loyal, stubborn Taurus! The A is for my name, and the circle represents the love that exists between all people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love denim \u2014 mixing and matching it, layering it, wearing it as a top, or doing the full Canadian tuxedo. In New York City, your day can go in many different directions. One minute you\u2019re having a coffee with a friend. So, I like that I can wear denim super casually, but also dress it up and make it look chic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up in a household where saying \u2018I love you\u2019 was the norm, but it\u2019s not lost on me that lots of people didn\u2019t. So, I try to say \u2018I love you\u2019 as often as possible, and my hope is to help normalize those three little words. I know they can be scary to some folks, and my tattoos are a gentle reminder that \u2018I love you\u2019 can be simple. It doesn\u2019t have to be heavy or intense. It just means that I\u2019m here for you, and that is unconditional.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 6\u20191, and I\u2019ve been this tall since I was 13. As a teenager, I wasn\u2019t too thrilled about towering over everyone, but that feeling passed quickly. Now I\u2019m like, \u2018This is who I am.\u2019 I think my height is a form of power, and I wouldn\u2019t trade it for anything. I\u2019m not going to steer clear of heels or try to shrink myself. I would choose myself just as I am, every single time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI get a lot of compliments on my hair \u2014 and questions! My hair is natural and I\u2019ve never colored it. I usually wear it back, just because that works best for my lifestyle as a runner. I can\u2019t wait for the morning that I wake up and my hair is all white.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a co-captain of Girls Run NYC<\/a>, an all-women running collective. Running is the foundation, but it\u2019s more than that. So many women in the group have made lifelong friendships and even started businesses together. We meet at the track once a week, and it\u2019s open to anyone. The workout is designed so you can go at your own pace \u2014\u00a0challenge by choice, no woman left behind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lived in New York for 24 years, but I grew up in California and I\u2019m still a California girl at heart. I must carry that essence with me, because whenever I tell people I\u2019m from California, they\u2019re like, \u2018Oh yeah, I picked that up.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n
