{"id":7175,"date":"2026-09-17T09:56:39","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T09:56:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/silvybrand.com\/?p=7175"},"modified":"2026-09-17T09:56:39","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T09:56:39","slug":"trump-defense-department-sends-alien-disclosure-signal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/silvybrand.com\/?p=7175","title":{"rendered":"The Trump Administration Sends a New Signal to Alien Disclosure Whistleblowers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Since then, he wrote in his <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Borland-Written-Testimony.pdf\" class=\"text link\">statement to Congress<\/a>, he has &#8220;been prevented from resuming my prior employment&#8221; and remains \u201cblacklisted from certain agencies within the Intelligence Community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Other UAP whistleblowers have faced similar issues after coming forward, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rk0y6oeI2k0\" class=\"text link\">break-ins at their homes<\/a> to <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/space\/ufo\/intercept-ufo-whistleblower-health-records-foia\/\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/space\/ufo\/intercept-ufo-whistleblower-health-records-foia\/&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/space\/ufo\/intercept-ufo-whistleblower-health-records-foia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">leaked personal details<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The new waiver also only covers those who have worked with the Pentagon, leaving a CIA-sized hole in it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cI&#8217;m glad that they&#8217;re waiving NDAs for everybody who was on the [Defense Department] side,\u201d Borland says. \u201cIt doesn&#8217;t change the [Intelligence Community] side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">He pointed to the need to offer similar protections to the alphabet soup of intelligence agencies beyond just the CIA, including the National Security Agency, FBI, and others, as well as science agencies like NASA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Marik von Rennenkampff, a former State Department analyst and Obama-era Pentagon appointee now at <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/thesolfoundation.org\/\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/thesolfoundation.org\/&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/thesolfoundation.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Sol Foundation<\/a>, a UAP research nonprofit, agrees with that sentiment because of where whistleblowers say the secrets about nonhuman technology are kept. He points to a specific unit in the CIA that\u2019s \u201callegedly\u2014allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, I can&#8217;t stress that enough\u2014the quarterback for this alleged legacy effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cWhat has been announced publicly does not cover the core of the alleged legacy program yet,\u201d von Rennenkampff tells WIRED.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">There&#8217;s a second gap that no memo can close. Many of the people alleged to hold this information work for private contractors, and the government can&#8217;t waive an NDA it isn&#8217;t party to. Only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/50\/3373b\" class=\"text link\">the 2022 statute<\/a> addresses those types of agreements, and only for disclosures made through the official AARO channel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Despite these shortcomings, UAP researchers and whistleblowers point to, von Rennenkampff argues this week\u2019s announcement is still important.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cAfter 80 years of government denial, obfuscation, and ridicule on this topic, there&#8217;s now true political capital invested in this,\u201d he says. Unlike AARO, PURSUE is a \u201cpresidentially directed initiative\u201d that is reporting ultimately to political appointees in the White House, \u201cversus career bureaucrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cIt shows that the Trump administration is taking extraordinary claims about retrievals of a craft of nonhuman origins seriously,\u201d he says. There\u2019s a phrase in the release that von Rennenkampff says is another curious detail, particularly given how \u201cwordsmithed to hell\u201d government statements about UAP generally are. The Pentagon wrote that \u201cindividuals with direct knowledge of UAP-related programs\u201d have historically feared legal liability for speaking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cIt doesn&#8217;t say people with partial knowledge, half knowledge, alleging knowledge,\u201d he says. \u201cIt says people with direct knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Borland&#8217;s hope is that PURSUE answers to someone with the power to act on what it hears. He points to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/the-trump-alien-disclosure-speech-rumors-are-reaching-a-fever-pitch\/\" class=\"text link\">White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller\u2014<\/a>who Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently confirmed is working on the UAP portfolio\u2014as someone who would signal the White House is doing more than paying lip service to the topic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Beyond that, Borland has an offer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cThere&#8217;s enough smoke, and there&#8217;s enough people behind the scenes,\u201d he says, referring to himself and other whistleblowers. \u201cIf Stephen Miller and Trump wanted to actually know some stuff, they could call us into the White House right now, and I can throw down, and so can the rest of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/trump-defense-department-sends-alien-disclosure-signal\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since then, he wrote in his statement to Congress, he has &#8220;been prevented from resuming my prior employment&#8221; and remains \u201cblacklisted from certain agencies within the Intelligence Community.\u201d Other UAP whistleblowers have faced similar issues after coming forward, from break-ins at their homes to leaked personal details.
