After starting the creator subscription platform 13 years ago, co-founder and technology chief <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/samyamiam\/status\/2102503574492332141\">Sam Yam announced on X<\/a> that he\u2019s joining OpenAI to lead Creator Product. He\u2019s also bringing Patreon\u2019s former product head <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/drowny_last-week-i-wrapped-up-four-of-the-most-meaningful-share-7497665160883412993-vjZn\/\">Drew Rowny<\/a> and engineering head <a href=\"https:\/\/lnkd.in\/p\/eM9EF_r4\">Shannon Ma<\/a> with him on the new venture, both of whom stepped down in the past few weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">\u201cWe\u2019re going to build together with Creators at OpenAI and share early access to a new set of tools that I think will be critically valuable to Creators and their communities,\u201d Yam said in his announcement. \u201cPay attention to OpenAI DevDay next week! I\u2019m becoming active today (and experimenting with some innovative early tools here!)\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Bringing key Patreon execs on board suggests that OpenAI is exploring ways to enter the creator monetization business, given Patreon effectively set the blueprint for the creator-subscription economy as we know it.
