However, this strategy is reportedly creating manufacturing snags, like issues lining up parts precisely, as <em>The Information<\/em> notes: \u201cNot only are the Optimus production lines new, but the Optimus parts are much smaller and have to fit together far more precisely than car parts.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">It reports that even in the \u201cV3\u201d Optimus robots it\u2019s currently producing, the hands and forearms \u201chave more than 100 screws and other small components that currently require a worker to assemble manually.\u201d These robots are lighter and have more cameras than previous versions, but lack a \u201csensing glove\u201d currently in development that will improve durability by making it easier to replace touch sensors without swapping out the entire hand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Optimus has faced delays for years now, even as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/transportation\/805247\/tesla-q3-earnings-elon-musk-robot-army-pay-package\">Tesla CEO Elon Musk<\/a> has made bold promises about it, saying Optimus will be Tesla\u2019s \u201cbiggest product of all time.\u201d However, at the moment they\u2019re still being used internally for specific tasks in limited areas, and not generally or with remote teleoperation.
