The flagship Ultra headphones are the first from Bose to support the audio sharing technology, which the company plans to bring to more devices soon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Only a few major manufacturers include Auracast, and only on select headphones or earbuds \u2014 including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/789898\/sony-firmware-update-wf-1000xm5-wh-1000xm6-headphones-earbuds-audio-sharing\">Sony<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2025\/1\/6\/24337109\/jpl-tour-one-m3-wireless-headphones-transmitter-bluetooth\">JBL headphones<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/8\/29\/23850363\/samsung-auracast-bluetooth-le-audio-galaxy-buds-2-pro-neo-qled-8k-microled\">Samsung Galaxy Buds<\/a>, and Sennheiser, which also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/864569\/sennheiser-bluetooth-auracast-bta1-transmitter-hdr-275-wireless-headphones\">released an Auracast transmitter<\/a> this year. Some smaller companies, like EarFun, have added support. But Bose is one of the most recognizable names in headphones, so the fact that it\u2019s finally jumping in is big news for Auracast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Auracast was officially announced back in 2022, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/report\/839245\/auracast-marketing-jbl-lg-samsung-google\">adoption process has been slow<\/a>. The technology allows a device to broadcast Bluetooth audio to any number of supported headphones or speakers at the same time. This could be for gate announcements while waiting at the airport, a performance at a local venue, or a college lecture. You can even use Auracast at home to watch TV while kids are asleep or for extra hearing assistance \u2014 some Samsung and LG TVs have the functionality buried in their menus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The firmware update, labeled 10.12.12, has been quietly rolling out the past few weeks.
