It\u2019s one of <a href=\"https:\/\/frominside.ai\/\">a dozen interviews<\/a> with AI researchers, including current and former employees at OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic. Palisade Research, which says it\u2019s a non-profit studying AIs\u2019 capabilities and motivations, collected and launched the interviews on <a href=\"http:\/\/frominside.ai\">frominside.ai<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Several of the researchers joined Irving in warning about the possibility AI could drive humans extinct. Neel Nanda, a Google DeepMind research scientist, said there\u2019s \u201cat least a 10 percent chance that it causes human extinction, and that is ridiculously high.\u201d We noted comments from both Nanda and Irving in a recent report about the \u201cAI safety\u201d community, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/996563\/ai-safety-research-metr-redwood-openai-anthropic#:~:text=is%20a%20bit%20of%20a%20loaded%20term.\">how difficult it is to nail down what that term means<\/a>, or what anyone should do about it, and even these videos don\u2019t have one cohesive solution to offer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Former OpenAI researcher Daniel Kokotajilo went as far as claiming that superintelligent AI \u201cwould basically be god-like powerful,\u201d and added, \u201cunfortunately we don\u2019t know how to control them at all. And so probably nobody would control them. This is exactly as dangerous as it sounds and must not be allowed to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">While each video is available in full, the site also collects segments from multiple people speaking on similar topics, including whether this is all just hype or marketing, and why they would work on something that they believe is this dangerous.
