In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beehiiv.com\/blog\/beehiiv-pricing-2026\">a post explaining the increase<\/a>, Beehiiv cofounder and CEO Tyler Denk says it will allow the company to \u201ccontinue investing in our core platform experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beehiiv.com\/pricing?subscriberCount=10000\">part of the change<\/a>, Beehiiv is changing the name of its midrange Scale plan to Lite, which has gone up by at least $10 per month depending on subscriber count. For someone with up to 10,000 subscribers, for example, Beehiiv will charge $139 \/ month instead of $109. Meanwhile, the Pro plan (formerly Max) will cost $239 \/ month for up to 10,000 subscribers, a jump from the previous $219 \/month price. Creators with less than 2,500 subscribers can continue using Beehiiv for free.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The price hike has several creators on social media <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/alexh459\/status\/2105676012235190541\">reconsidering their decision<\/a> to use the platform, which many have joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/927294\/substack-tax-ghost-beehiiv\">to avoid the 10 percent cut<\/a> Substack takes from total subscription revenue. In <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/timstevens.bsky.social\/post\/3mwt5ijfz5s24\">a post on Bluesky, freelance journalist<\/a> Tim Stevens expresses frustration with the changes to Beehiiv that he\u2019s seen after switching to the platform earlier this year. \u201cSince then, the sponsor choices and ad rates have tanked.\u201d Stevens writes. \u201cNow, Beehiiv is hiking its fees 25%, making this an even less profitable endeavor.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Matt Lombardo, who also <a href=\"https:\/\/mattlombardonfl.substack.com\/p\/why-between-the-hashmarks-is-leaving\">recently moved<\/a> his NFL news site <em>Between the Hashmarks<\/em> from Substack to Beehiiv, mentioned his issues with the change as well. \u201cBeehiiv raising prices without yet offering video podcasts, a viable consistent growth engine on platform, or podcast ads is pretty frustrating to experience, as someone who enjoys the platform,\u201d Lombardo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.com\/@mattlombardonfl\/post\/Dd9jhxLoBuh?xmt=AQG0kKo3xb-HkvDlEasRnOTmNoV5yOE2iToSvBnxeqbKYC0-WaL_NueCi7gSNsSaDlus6fk\">writes on Threads<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/beehiiv\/comments\/1wvaw5u\/why_i_think_theres_a_bit_of_a_disconnect_between\/\">a post on Reddit<\/a>, <em>Extra Points<\/em> creator Matt Brown notes that while he believes Beehiiv is a \u201csteal\u201d compared to Substack, he acknowledges that this \u201creally isn\u2019t true for many other publishers,\u201d especially for those who don\u2019t charge a subscription fee for their work:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<blockquote class=\"duet--article--blockquote _1lkuyz82 _1lkuyz80 _19wv7tc9\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup _1lkuyz89 _1lkuyz88 _19wv7tc1\">As these prices increase, I think it\u2019s becoming increasingly clear that if you have under 10K subscribers and rely on Beehiiv to do the majority of your rev-gen, and ESPECIALLY if you\u2019re outside the United States, the answer is going to be No. It isn\u2019t worth it. You\u2019ll be able to get similar functionality at a lower startup cost, and can plug in affilate ads via other networks.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Beehiiv has differentiated itself from other platforms by offering a trove of built-in features, including an integrated ad network, website personalization options, and podcast creation tools.
