This week, he resigned from his position and is now speaking out in an editorial in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/technology\/2026\/10\/openai-safety-team-resignation\/688881\/?gift=1ga2TvL-DbuHDQIcYF7oR4o908Fsjxr4NFLlsptkfP8\">The Atlantic<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">It\u2019s understandable if you\u2019re feeling a bit cynical about everyone suddenly coming out of the woodwork to warn about how dangerous the thing they helped build is. They did, after all, make this mess. But that doesn\u2019t mean we should discount their warnings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Robinson says that the culture in industry is fundamentally broken. That this is a deeper issue than simply slapping a few new rules or regulations on how we handle training models. Silicon Valley has operated with \u201cextreme confidence\u201d and \u201cperpetual sprints,\u201d he says, building bigger and better models with \u201cunimpeded optimism\u201d that ignores or underestimates potential problems.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">He says the time has come for AI companies to develop a sense of humility and look outside the insular, move-fast-and-break-things world of the tech industry.
