Races are being run\u2014and likely decided\u2014on Silicon Valley funding, data center debates, AI regulation, extremism, and more. Gober <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/redistricting.lls.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/TX-lulac-20251124-tx-naacp.pdf#:~:text=The%20testimony%20of%20legislators%20that,several%20legislators%20to%20testify%20that\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/redistricting.lls.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/TX-lulac-20251124-tx-naacp.pdf#:~:text=The%20testimony%20of%20legislators%20that,several%20legislators%20to%20testify%20that&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/redistricting.lls.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/TX-lulac-20251124-tx-naacp.pdf#:~:text=The%20testimony%20of%20legislators%20that,several%20legislators%20to%20testify%20that\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">served as counsel<\/a> for the Texas Republican congressional delegation for the 2025 redistricting effort that saw a new, gerrymandered map created for the 2026 midterms\u2014one that was meant to create five new Republican congressional districts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">In addition to representing Musk\u2019s PAC, Gober\u2019s law firm, Lex Politica, has also represented <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/searchlightnm.org\/group-that-urged-new-mexicans-to-support-project-jupiter-discloses-finances-after-ethics-case\/\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/searchlightnm.org\/group-that-urged-new-mexicans-to-support-project-jupiter-discloses-finances-after-ethics-case\/&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/searchlightnm.org\/group-that-urged-new-mexicans-to-support-project-jupiter-discloses-finances-after-ethics-case\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elevate New Mexico<\/a>, a limited liability company that ran an advertising campaign supporting a controversial data center project in the state, as well as the <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/vsquare.org\/as-orban-allied-think-tank-is-dismantled-leaders-shop-its-network-to-maga\/\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/vsquare.org\/as-orban-allied-think-tank-is-dismantled-leaders-shop-its-network-to-maga\/&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/vsquare.org\/as-orban-allied-think-tank-is-dismantled-leaders-shop-its-network-to-maga\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Danube Institute USA<\/a>, a think tank aligned with Hungary\u2019s former right-wing leader Viktor Orban.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">According to reporting from The New York Times, Gober was one of several lawyers who advised on the structure of the so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/tag\/doge\/\" class=\"text link\">Department of Government Efficiency<\/a> (DOGE) in the weeks leading up to President Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The 10th district also includes Grimes County, where SpaceXAI and Tesla have said they plan to open a 100-million-square-foot \u201cterafab\u201d facility to manufacture semiconductors. In addition to his legal work, Gober\u2019s LinkedIn lists him as general counsel for a lobbying group called Maven Advocacy Partners, the client base of which includes several defense tech startups. (Its name appears to be a reference to the Department of War\u2019s Project Maven, which is supported by tech companies like Palantir and Anduril.) Gober also appears to run another company called Maven Defense Solutions.
