On Friday, a judge ordered DJ Byrnes, owner of political commentary blog <em>The Rooster<\/em>, to pay a $200 fine, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispatch.com\/story\/news\/courts\/2026\/10\/09\/jurors-find-the-rooster-is-guilty-of-harassment-in-shrek-text-trial\/92168333007\/?gnt-cfr=1&amp;gca-cat=p&amp;gca-uir=true&amp;gca-epti=z115524e1116xxv115524d--61--b--61--&amp;gca-ft=180&amp;gca-ds=sophi\">a report from the <em>Columbus Dispatch<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Byrnes texted Ohio Sen. Jerry Cirino in May after he dropped out of the state\u2019s Senate presidential race. As reported by the <em>Columbus Dispatch<\/em>, Byrnes sent a nude image of Shrek alongside the message: \u201cGood to see you finally made your humiliation public, Young Mussolini! THE PATRIOTS CAUCUS sends its regards!!!!!!!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Cirino filed a police report against Byrnes, \u201cdescribing his messages as pornographic and harassing,\u201d according to the <em>Columbus Dispatch<\/em>. Four state police officers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispatch.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/06\/01\/rooster-arrest-ohio-statehouse\/90358157007\/?gnt-cfr=1&amp;gca-cat=p&amp;gca-uir=true&amp;gca-epti=z119224p119250n00----l000150c00----e1144xxv119224d--82--b--82--&amp;gca-ft=231&amp;gca-ds=sophi\">arrested Byrnes at the Ohio statehouse in June<\/a>, the <em>Columbus Dispatch<\/em> reports.
