Only it&#8217;s more like a farce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">It seems that Elon Musk, while crowing on X about how useful his Grok Bot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/expired-tired-wired-all-access-ai-agents\/\" class=\"text link\">AI agent<\/a> was in ordering some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/lego-star-wars-smart-play-throne-room-duel-a-wing-review\/\" class=\"text link\">Lego Star Wars<\/a> kits on Sunday, <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/2109155867983786382?s=46&amp;t=BpspFAnHUF6PMLQ-zgCWTg\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/2109155867983786382?s=46&amp;t=BpspFAnHUF6PMLQ-zgCWTg&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/2109155867983786382?s=46&amp;t=BpspFAnHUF6PMLQ-zgCWTg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">managed to reveal<\/a> via a screenshot to his more than 240 million followers not only the 10-digit Lego order number of his purchase, but also what he paid for the sets, the delivery and billing addresses, the last four digits of his credit card, and the email address his bot used to buy the bricks from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/tag\/lego\/\" class=\"text link\">Lego<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Faster than the Millennium Falcon making the jump to light speed, the inevitable happened. An X account holder named <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Enderman?lang=en\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/x.com\/Enderman?lang=en&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Enderman?lang=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Enderman<\/a> posted screenshots of interactions with Lego&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/ebike-delivery-missing-when-i-tried-to-recover-it-i-ended-up-in-chatbot-hell\/\" class=\"text link\">customer service chatbot<\/a> on its website, where the user seemingly managed\u2014using the email and order number Musk kindly, but recklessly, provided\u2014to get the system to cancel Musk&#8217;s order.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"paywall\">It\u2019s a Trap!<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Within a couple of hours\u2014possibly to see whether Enderman&#8217;s scheme was actually successful\u2014Musk replied and said his order had not been canceled after all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">But by this point, the folly of posting the purchase details on his account must have been evident. For example, another X user went back to Lego&#8217;s AI assistant, called \u201cSophia,\u201d and supposedly used the same details to reopen the delivery, this time <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AlexanderLotus\/status\/2109254959539593509\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/x.com\/AlexanderLotus\/status\/2109254959539593509&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AlexanderLotus\/status\/2109254959539593509\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">increasing the order count to 400<\/a> and changing the delivery address, all while using Musk&#8217;s original payment method. \u201cPerfect! I&#8217;ll get your Lego adventure back on track,\u201d Sophia replied according to screenshots posted on X.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Upping the ante to 400 sets could be seen as conservative, as a glance at WIRED&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/spend-elon-musk-money\/\" class=\"text link\">Spend Elon Musk\u2019s Money<\/a> tracker reveals that if you wanted to blow $1 trillion of Musk&#8217;s cash on plastic bricks, it might have been possible to buy <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\/product\/death-star-75419\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\/product\/death-star-75419&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\/product\/death-star-75419\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one billion $1,000<\/a> Death Star sets, each with 9,023 pieces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Lego declined to comment when WIRED contacted the company to confirm if such activity took place on Musk&#8217;s personal Star Wars order. However, internal safeguards for Lego&#8217;s AI assistant could have flagged unusual activity on the purchase, and so hopefully fleshy humans were tasked with checking the changes.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"paywall\">Attack of the Clones<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paywall\">On Saturday, Musk suggested that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/grok-is-still-hosting-sexualized-deepfakes-of-famous-women\/\" class=\"text link\">Grok<\/a> could make purchases online with a simple prompt.
