{"id":8565,"date":"2026-10-12T19:02:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T19:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/silvybrand.com\/?p=8565"},"modified":"2026-10-12T19:02:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T19:02:00","slug":"republican-election-groups-are-now-targeting-nursing-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/silvybrand.com\/?p=8565","title":{"rendered":"Far-Right Election Groups Are Now Targeting Nursing Homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"lead-in-text-callout\">With just weeks<\/span> to go until the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/the-white-house-is-starting-to-panic-over-the-midterms\/\" class=\"text link\">midterms<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/hundreds-of-election-deniers-will-be-on-the-ballot-this-november\/\" class=\"text link\">election denial groups<\/a> have found a new target: nursing homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The groups, led by the right-wing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/election-deniers-trump-anti-immigrant-voting\/\" class=\"text link\">Election Integrity Network<\/a>, have claimed without evidence that left-wing organizations are perpetrating voter fraud inside nursing homes, care homes, and assisted-living facilities. The network is now recruiting their followers to contact and question those facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cThese left-wing groups go into the nursing homes, and they go into the group homes, and they basically steal the votes of these most vulnerable,\u201d Cleta Mitchell, the Election Integrity Network\u2019s founder, said in a recent <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Bannons_WarRoom\/status\/2095547139384295733\" class=\"external-link text link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/x.com\/Bannons_WarRoom\/status\/2095547139384295733&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Bannons_WarRoom\/status\/2095547139384295733\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">appearance on Steve Bannon\u2019s <em>War Room<\/em> show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">As evidence, Mitchell referenced a case in Wisconsin from 2020 in which a sheriff alleged that eight residents in a care home had their votes filled out for them. The posts identified \u201cvulnerable residents\u201d who \u201cmay become targets for political predators seeking easy access to ballots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">Mitchell and the Election Integrity Network did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">The effort is part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/this-is-how-trump-is-already-threatening-the-midterms\/\" class=\"text link\">a much broader push<\/a> by election deniers to undermine trust in the midterms.
