Last weekend, Freddie<\/a> and I went upstate to visit friends, but on the first afternoon I got food poisoning\u2026<\/p>\n

So, instead of apple picking or hiking the nearby trail, we stayed home at the rental apartment. Bummer, but it happens<\/a>! To entertain ourselves, Freddie suggested we hang out on the bed and play a lightning round. <\/p>\n

We used to play them when we were first dating<\/a>, as a way to get to know each other. I\u2019m sure many people do this, too, but if you haven\u2019t, you basically ask the other person random questions that likely wouldn\u2019t come up in regular conversation.<\/p>\n

A few examples:
What was your favorite cereal when you were little?
What\u2019s your love language<\/a>?
What\u2019s the worst text you\u2019ve accidentally sent?
Who was the best roommate you\u2019ve ever had?
What meal could you eat over and over?
How would you describe yourself in five words<\/a>?
What author has never let you down?
Flight vs invisibility?
So, how many times have you been to Texas?<\/p>\n

Even though we\u2019ve been dating for two years, the answers are often surprising. Case in point: That afternoon, I asked Freddie, \u201cWhat TV character would you be friends with<\/a>?\u201d and his answer was immediate.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrandon Walsh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, from 90210. I burst out laughing. For real???<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely!\u201d Freddie insisted. \u201cHe\u2019s the moral center. And he\u2019s from Minnesota. He\u2019d be a great friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Brandon<\/p>\n

He likes the beach!<\/p>\n

\"Brandon<\/p>\n

He goofs around!<\/p>\n

\"Brandon<\/p>\n

He wears blazers to high school!<\/p>\n

So, there you go! Do you ever play lightning rounds? They\u2019re really random and fun. What questions would you ask?<\/strong><\/p>\n
