The technology also removes mid-game \u201cjust-in-time\u201d shader compilation, reducing stuttering and CPU spikes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Microsoft\u2019s Advanced Shader Delivery works by offloading shader compilation for different hardware combinations to the cloud. \u201cUsing DirectX 12, Windows 11, and the Microsoft Agility SDK, developers capture shaders into a State Object Database (SODB), allowing Microsoft\u2019s cloud network to precompile shaders for hundreds of thousands of hardware and driver combinations,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-gb\/geforce\/news\/phantom-blade-zero-nvidia-geforce-game-ready-driver\/\">explains Nvidia\u2019s Andrew Burnes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\"><em>Gears of War: E-Day<\/em> and <em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4<\/em> now both support Advanced Shader Delivery, as long as you download the games via the Xbox PC app. \u201cThis system is storefront-agnostic, meaning you benefit even when playing games purchased on Steam, as long as the Xbox PC app is installed on your PC,\u201d says Burnes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Advanced Shader Delivery will let you skip the annoying shader compilation screen in <em>Call of Duty<\/em>, and it should improve the overall performance of supported games. \u201cWith a near-100 percent cache hit rate, it eliminates mid-game \u2018just-in-time\u2019 shader compilation, wiping out CPU spikes and frame stutters in titles like <em>Gears of War: E-Day<\/em>, and <em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">You can download Nvidia\u2019s latest 621.01 update <a href=\"https:\/\/us.download.nvidia.com\/Windows\/621.01\/621.01-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe\">here<\/a>, and Advanced Shader Delivery is also supported on AMD GPUs with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/en\/resources\/support-articles\/release-notes\/RN-RAD-WIN-26-6-1.html\">Adrenalin 26.6.1<\/a> or higher and Qualcomm\u2019s Snapdragon X2 series with driver version <a href=\"https:\/\/softwarecenter.qualcomm.com\/catalog\/item\/Windows_Graphics_Driver?osArch=ARM64&amp;osType=Windows&amp;version=2026.08.3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2026.08.3 or higher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/1015299\/nvidia-driver-microsoft-advanced-shader-delivery-support\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nvidia is rolling out a new GPU driver today (621.01) that enables Microsoft\u2019s new Advanced Shader Delivery technology to speed up game launches.
