What are you wearing on these crisp fall days? I know some people don\u2019t care about trends \u2014 life is short, wear whatever you\u2019d like! \u2014 but I really love the visual conversation of seeing people re-wearing their mom\u2019s \u201970s sweaters, say, or breathing life into old jeans from the back of their closet. If you, too, are curious, here are seven trends to look out for this fall\u2026<\/p>\n

1. Funnel necks<\/strong> have been a trend since spring<\/a>, and, happily, it looks like they\u2019re here to stay. I\u2019ve always liked funnel-neck jackets<\/a>, and I\u2019m now into the sweaters<\/a>, too. (And this one with a stripe<\/a>!)<\/p>\n

2. Animal print.<\/strong> I used to equate leopard print<\/a> with Mrs. Robinson<\/a> \u2014 older, sexy, a little dangerous \u2014\u00a0but the styles these days feel laid-back and cool, like something you\u2019d wear to the movies or park. I\u2019m into this dress<\/a>, this sweater<\/a>, and these shoes<\/a>. If you\u2019d rather just dip a toe, this scarf<\/a> is great; and if you\u2019re craving more, wowwwww this coat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3. Lace details.<\/strong> This blouse<\/a> would be gorgeous for dinner dates, don\u2019t you think? And you could wear this satin shirt<\/a> on its own or under a blazer. But, gahh, if money were no object, how gorgeous is this maxi dress<\/a>???<\/p>\n

4. Autumnal stripes<\/strong>. Think: striped sweaters<\/a> in deep reds, browns, and blues, to pair with comfy jeans and sneakers. I actually have this shirt<\/a> and have been wearing it non-stop.<\/p>\n

5. Pops of red<\/strong> have always been cool, of course, but they\u2019ve gotten so ubiquitous that Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/a> announced, \u201cRed became a neutral this season.\u201d I\u2019d love to wear this cute beanie<\/a> all winter \u2014 it\u2019s nice to have color in a sea of black coats \u2014 and these striped socks<\/a> are extremely adorable for only $15. Also: pretty shoes<\/a>, cozy scarf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

6. Dark-wash jeans<\/strong> feel casual for bookstore runs and documentary screenings (are you going to see Nathan Fielder\u2019s<\/a>???), but they also dress up easily for work meetings and drinks with friends. I wear this high-rise pair<\/a> all the time (this vintage-style version<\/a> is great, too), and I love how this pair<\/a> has the teeny-tiniest kick-flare. Also, this comment from Anna made me laugh: \u201cI look like a clown in barrel pants. Hope we see some non-barrel styles this fall.\u201d<\/p>\n

7. Barrel bags.<\/strong> I\u2019ve been spotting this bag shape<\/a> around town this fall, and they look both chic and playful. I\u2019ve heard them called \u201cpencil bags,\u201d<\/a> which pleases the school-loving library girl in me to no end!<\/p>\n

Thoughts? Which would you wear? This dress<\/a> is two trends in one!<\/strong><\/p>\n
