The job cuts will affect around 300 of Squarespace\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.squarespace.com\/about\/team#:~:text=Under%20Anthony%E2%80%99s%20continued%20leadership%2C%20Squarespace%20has%20grown%20from%20a%20single%20person%2C%20bootstrapped%20startup%20to%20a%20global%2C%20profitable%2C%20publicly%20listed%20company%20(NYSE%3A%20SQSP)%20with%20over%20%241B%20in%20annual%20revenue%20and%201%2C800%20employees%20globally.\">1,800 employees<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">\u201cThe changes are intended to simplify how we operate, sharpen our priorities and enable the company to move faster as we position Squarespace for its next phase of growth,\u201d Seedman says. \u201cWe are grateful for the contributions of our departing colleagues and are providing comprehensive support to help them through the transition.\u201d Seedman adds that impacted employees will receive 16 weeks of base pay and healthcare benefits into May 2027.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The layoffs come a little over two years after Squarespace\u2019s big push into AI. In 2024, the company announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inc.com\/annabel-burba\/squarespace-just-announced-new-ai-powered-website-design-tool-entrepreneurs.html\">its Blueprint AI tool<\/a>, which uses AI to build websites as well as generate website copy, blog posts, product descriptions, and more.
