50 Cent’s Diddy Doc Lands at Netflix After Bidding Frenzy
Exclusive
Rapper 50 Cent’s highly anticipated documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs has found a home at Netflix, according to TMZ’s sources. The multi-part series delves into the sexual assault allegations against Diddy, sparking a heated bidding war among streamers and networks.
Netflix ultimately secured the rights, and sources say the docuseries will be available soon.
Timely Subject Matter
The project couldn’t be more relevant. Just days ago, model Crystal McKinney filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of sexual assault in 2003.
This comes on the heels of leaked 2016 security footage showing Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel hallway. Cassie had previously accused Diddy of abuse and sexual assault, settling the case out of court last year.
Diddy apologized for the Cassie incident in a video statement, calling it a low point in his life. He has denied all sexual assault allegations against him, facing several other lawsuits.
50 Cent’s Role in the Drama
50 Cent, a longtime rival of Diddy, has been vocal on social media throughout Diddy’s legal troubles.
He’s commented on the allegations, the federal raids on Diddy’s homes, and even referenced the unsolved murder of The Notorious B.I.G. in a 2006 diss track aimed at Diddy.
A Longstanding Feud
The rappers’ animosity stretches back nearly two decades, fueled by 50 Cent’s 2006 song “The Bomb,” which insinuated Diddy’s knowledge of B.I.G.’s death.
Reps Not Responding
TMZ has reached out to representatives for both 50 Cent and Netflix, but haven’t received a response yet.
